Dreidels for Jerusalem 3000
Dreidels for Jerusalem 3000
A dreidel (Yiddish; Hebrew: sivivon) is the top associated with children's games for Chanukah. These dreidels were made in honor of the 3000-th anniversary of Jerusalem as the capital of King David's Israel. Notice the Hebrew letter "Peh" at the top of the dreidel on the left. Dreidels made for the Diaspora contain the Hebrew letters Nun, Gimel, Heh, Shin, for Nes Gadol Hayah Shom (a great miracle happened there) - however, dreidels made for use in Israel use the letter Peh for the word po (here) instead of Shin for shom (there).
